Steve Jaspan was an award-winning student in Town and Regional Planning at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he graduated in 1974. In 1975 he joined Rosmarin and Associates later called Planafrica and became a partner in 1979. In 1990 he became the Managing Partner of the firm. In 1998 after the firm split up he formed Steve Jaspan and Associates. He has been a part-time lecturer/tutor and internal and external examiner in the Town Planning Department of the University of the Witwatersrand. He has also published various articles in planning publications and presented papers at seminars and conferences.
He has experience in all aspects of town planning and has been involved in the preparation of Master Plans, numerous townships and rezonings, consent use and subdivision applications. More recently he has been involved in the analytical investigation of Johannesburg CBD and the resultant economic study for the CBD, a study on the Roodepoort CBD and a number of development plans.
